Deirdre Meyer

Hello! My name is Deirdre Meyer  and I am so excited to be the Lead Teacher at First Friends in the FRSD Preschool Classroom! I am a certified teacher and have taught Preschool, Kindergarten and First Grade and I also tutor.  I attended Alfred University and have a BA degree in Elementary Education. I live in Flemington with my husband and three sons.

 

I am passionate about building a positive relationship with children and take the time to get to know them and their interests.  I feel this helps foster a learning environment where they can achieve academic success and build confidence.  My own children have helped me to gain an understanding of the

social and emotional needs of young children as well as a deep appreciation for the wonders of childhood

discovery and learning.

 

In my class, it is my hope to do the same for your children; to foster a love of learning and exploration through

play and discovery. I hope to see their eyes light up when they hear their favorite part of a story or mix blue

and yellow paint into green. I hope to see them happily engaged as they explore a sensory bin or create their

own world from blocks and matchbox cars. Most of all, I hope that our class will be a place where your child feels joyful, loved, and nurtured!

 

In my free time, I love to exercise, play tennis, read at the beach, and watch my sons play ice hockey.
